How Many of you have the courage to speak honestly or freely or to give a bias free speech in the any platform?
I must say I don’t have and I am sure many of us don’t have this backbone or courage to do this. There are so many reasons for this. I personally cannot tell everything loudly for various surrounding reasons. Besides the political issues, there are some social issues which I cannot raise in public platform.
Let’s say I want to start discussions in favor of Islam which is the most peaceful religion among all the religions. In that case I must have to give the drawbacks of the other religion which I cannot because I have some friends whoa re non Muslims and there are some legal boundaries where secularism is considered as the state identity of Bangladesh though the majority (more than 90%) of the total population is Muslim and if I do so I might be in trouble for a giving communal statements. The Muslims are neglected in our neighboring country India. In India Muslims cannot raise their voice and even Even here from Bangladesh we cannot protest against those who are torturing our Muslim brothers in India because it can create another political issues. Being Muslim we are helpless in helping our Muslim brothers.
Can we express our personal choice in terms of choosing our individual political choice? The answer is a big NO not because we want to stay safe with our family in the society also there are some survival issues. So politically and technically I am disclosing myself as liberal and truly i am right at this very moment.
In the society can we do or say what we actually want to. We have social norms and beliefs along with traditions which we cannot violate.
In the print or electronic media can we express our individual views or make programs and create news of our present conditions or deliver the genuine phenomenon to the audience? Lets not answer this openly in the platform as the answers might be considered as sour by some of the audiences.
However, can we write anything in this blogging website whatever we want to share. We, the common people are helpless. We have to adjust with all sort of conditions and environment of our country no matter what positive or negative. We want peace. Lets shut our mouth up, lets close our eyes and lets not hear everything or throw it in from one ear and throw it out from another ear. Living peacefully is the biggest challenge now a day.
