One event can make someone's life memorable and contented and create a different level of self esteem. Among them national ward winning moments can make someone's life fully contented and satisfied

Let me introduce one biggest memory of my life which was in the year of 2003. where i won a gold medal from the prime minister of Bangladesh. The name of the competition was national education week 2003 where all the public and private universities competed with each other. I was selected for representing North South University where i have participated in the segment of folk music. Very frankly speaking i had very little knowledge in Music during that time. I had planned to perform the song 'Doyal Tomaro Lagia'.

Background of learning this song:

Let me tell you the background of that song. The song was written by Poran Fokir and composed by Nobin Chandra Rajbonshi. The song was more than 100 years old song. I was at that time the member of Bangladesh Lokosonget Porishod and i learnt this song from there and i have learnt him directly from Nobin Chandra Rajbonshi (father of my guru Indro Mohan Rajbonshi). Whenever i started singing song in front him, Mr Nobin Chandra Rajbonshi started crying as he was very much impressed of my singing style. He is no more now. I still love him from the core of my heart. May he rest in Peace.

National competition Day:

I reached at the venue BIAM centre, Dhaka very early in the morning. I was then very much scared as most of the participants were more or less veteran and they could sing better than me. But i had one strength more than them that is i could sing in a higher pitch which i would sat=y was my extra advantage. Anyway when my name was called. I sat in front of them and started singing. Prominent musical personalities were sitting there as judge. After finishing my singing they were about to ask me some basics of Music but meanwhile i stopped through letting them know that i don't have any basics or grammatical knowledge in Music. They were bit astonished and starring at me in a very mysterious way. As i didn't reply these questions, i was so far started thinking that i will never win any place in this competition. I left the performing room with a gloomy mind.

The result announcing moment:

Just after 1 hour of finishing the performance of all participants the the most awaited moment arrived. First they announced the 3rd position and my name was not there. By that time i was thinking about myself that my name couldn't be in the 2nd position as i couldn't give the answers of the judge's basic questions. When the name of the 2nd position was announced, i didn't find my name and at that very moment i was getting ready to leave the competition venue hence no chance to hear my name in the first position. Suddenly one announcement had almost stopped my heart beat and thrilled me in such way that i cannot let everyone know about that feeling yet. The announcement was 'Here is the name of the 1st position an he is Md Nazmul Huq Talukder from North South University'. I could believe it myself. I went to the announcement floor and confirmed it myself once again. I cannot explain it in my words even today.

My achievement:

I was directly awarded by the that time prime minister of Bangladesh Begum Khaleda Zia and won a god medal and a certificate from education ministry.

The whole experiences gave me the confidences in developing my self esteem and i think all the national award winners will be agreeing with this fact and in music or any field only lucky and blessed people will have the chance of being a self esteemed in their individual field.
