Life at Australia
I went to Sydney, Australia for doing my masters in the year of 2006. Initially I had to stay mu uncle’s home so that I could find someone to share my living with as living cost was too high to afford alone. Just after one week I got a sublet with another Bangladeshi Guy named Mr Mohammd. I must say he supported a lot survive. One thing I won’t forget that he had a very good cooking skill.
Initially I had to work part time work (Cash Basis) where I had been getting 10 dollar per hour and I had to continue this until I got any permanent tax based 20 hours job. I had to do different sort of odd jobs like cleaning, car washing etc though after 1 year I got a direct sales job at Telstra. At that very moment my first mixed album ‘Prem Shikari’ was released composed by Balam and I got to know staying at Sydney that one of my song ‘Doyal Tomaro Lagia became very popular’. Gradually the Bangla community of Sydney especially the Bangladshi area ‘Lakemba’ people knew about it and invited me to perform in front of Bangla community. I must acknowledge one name Ms Hasna Hena who helped me to give me lots of show in the Bangla community. I performed in Melbourne and other local areas at Sydney. I was interviewed by different local radio channels and simutaneously Bangla television channel Bidesh Bangla offered me to make a music video of my newly hit song ‘Doyal Tomaro Lagia’.
Bidesh Bangla Program
The video was conducted through Ms Hasna Hena. The Bangladeshi ambassador of Australia invited our video team for a lunch to his residence at Canberra. By that time I was acknowledged by different community show organizer and I became very popular among the whole Bangla community at Sydney and was awarded with appreciation award.
